50% SNG challenge

Trying to cash at least 50 SNGs over the course of the next 100 played.

Doing this more-so for myself to see if I can do this, will track results here. I play on 5dimes at various levels (usually very low stakes), really whatever is close to full when I want to play. Prefer 6-max turbo or 9-max regular.

Out of curiosity.. From your posts in the AWM thread, I'm sure you know it is often +EV to play for first place $$ at the risk of cashing less. Are you altering your play in these 100 SnGs to try to cash in 50+ (like you would for a prop bet), or are you playing them normally, tracking the results, and hoping that your cash rate is at least 50%?

A little bit of both. I'm still playing for first and never intended to really alter my game as there is nothing to be gained for hitting this mark (I don't have a prop bet on it or anything). However I have found that I am being a little more careful on the bubble than I normally would; I guess it's just human nature that this goal is creeping in the back of my mind.

So far yes I have had 3 min cashes but that's just kinda the way it worked out. I ran HORRIBLY yesterday so am happy to have even cashed 3.

One of my min cashes where I got 2/6 I went HU with a small chip lead and the guy just held over me the entire time, it was actually kinda comical. I think within the course of 5 hands he had KK, AQ, and QQ.

Another one of the min cashes I was 2nd in chips and chip leader was trying to throw weight around and I picked off his button shove where he had A6 and I had AK and he turned a 6.

The third min cash I was getting kinda short HU and the guy 3-bet shoved me; I had KQ suited and he had A3 and neither of us improved.

So, hopefully I will be able to sprinkle some firsts in here, hahaha.

upon using a mathmatical avg of making the money 50% of the time and 50% of the time you make money 3rd / 25% 2nd / 25% 1st.. I think on 100 $110 entries you would make like 6k.

I did it quickly but I am quite sure its a decent amount.. just don't know how long 100 tournaments will take ya

Playing at $11 per tournament the net would be $600 which still isnt shabby for recreational purposes <><>

Thanks murph, yeah I usually do play $10+1, sometimes 15 and sometimes 5 just depending on what fills up. I play as more of a hobby and to improve my game; I think I have all the basic understanding and am just trying to get a lot of games/hands in at this point. I have played at much higher stakes before but this is what fits my current budget and keeps me entertained and learning.

Anway, I should be able to hit 100 tournaments in a month, depending. I'm about to go abroad for a week and I'm not sure what the internet capabilities will be where I'm going. Then I'm going straight to Chicago for 2 weeks for work; if I'm super busy with work I won't barely play but if the trip is uneventful I will be sitting in a hotel room so I'll probably play a ton.

At my average rate I think I play 3-4 per day so yeah, 100 is a month's worth.

Played a shit-ton of games today and ran just awful. TBH it started to affect my play and I started playing poorly on top of it. Gonna look back at my history and update this thread tomorrow but I have a feeling I'm somewhere around 6/18 or something. Gonna have to turn things around here!
